On the bottom of the sharpener, is a camera tripod mount. It is on the sharpener for a reason. If this sharpener, falls off of a work bench just so, and hits the ground, the attachment point where the sanding belt attachment joins, breaks off. Broken.

I just got mine back. They warrantied the unit. Sent me a new one.

Mine will be bolted to a table, no more falls to the ground.

(love the sharpener by the way. ):thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Good show in regards to their customer service as well. I love my WSKO.

Thanks for the heads-up. How is the tinkering coming?

Awesome customer service. The WSKO is on my list for this year, so I'm glad to know they're so cool about the warranty.

Wow I would have never expected the warranty to cover drops. Good show on their part. The question is why would you drop your sharpener? :p

When I read the thread title you had me scared for a minute...then after I read your post I realized you were just warning us that it might break if we drop it. :p

Sorry for the bad luck however  to them for replacing.

I had it fastened to a camera tripod, and when I was unhooking it to put it away, it slid off and crashed onto a cement floor. Dropped three feet, with the grinder attachment attached. Grinder attachment is all aluminum. The KO Sharpener is mostly plastic. The plastic lost.

The mounting bracket is pretty light weight. I think you could drop it 6" and it would break.

Posting this warning, so others will not follow the road I went down.

I believe a fix is planned for this, but my replacement is still all plastic.

Tinkering went on hold two days, while I waited for cut resistant gloves from Amazon. I am suffering my last cut, I hope.

Hope springs eternal. You know you are going to get cut the first time you don't wear your gloves, right?

So when are we going to see the Edgre Pro Clone + KME + Worksharp KO all come together to form a truly epic knife sharpening machine NRA? :D

I wish you could see the image in my head of what you already put together combined with the Worksharp KO, it's epic lol.

Not sure what you went for with gloves, but I hope it was HexArmor. They're the best you'll find, and well worth the money in my opinion.

I am 6'7" tall, and large bones, so I do not pick gloves, gloves pick me. I ordered in two pair I hoped would fit, and one did. Ordered another pair, we will see. My hand falls off all 4 sides of printer paper. 8.5 x 11

The real thing is just about as funny.

It is getting close, pics in another thread. The WSKO is going to be on a singular unit. I am blending the WSKO, Blade Grinder, and this:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002O4A2NU...UTF8&colid=1JEQHVGV2CYVB&coliid=IFCRFO3Z4HUHY

This will allow you to get exact angles from the Blade Grinder. Bigger belts, longer belts, better control than the Ken Onion attachment that comes with the sharpener.

Blade Grinder also comes with a leather strop you can order.

I don't fully understand exactly what you are doing yet, but you don't fail to disappoint when it comes to your creativity and pulling it off. I think I am just going to have to wait and see the final results, than I will probably understand it fully when I see a picture. Good luck, I will be eagerly awaiting to see the results.
