I recently bought the Worksharp Precision Adjust Sharpener. I wasn't expecting much, because it is pretty cheap and looked plasticky. But I have been pleasantly surprised. It puts a wicked edge on my knives, and I have even sharpened a few of our kitchen knives. Works for both small and medium sized blades, and it is very easy to use. I spent some time sharpening a few of my Spyderco knives the past couple of days, and I was able to re-profile them and hone them with ease. 17 degrees is a bit aggressive, but I just wanted to try it, and it worked amazingly. Highly recommended for the price.

For the price they look okay, but one complaint i constantly see is that the clamp is too thick to sharpen a lot of pocket knives. You said it works for small and medium sized blades, how did you get around this issue.

I didn’t really need to do anything to work around the clamp. I’ve sharpened smaller blades like the Delica, Kershaw Atmos, and the Dragonfly as well as bigger blades like the PM2 and my kitchen knives. Didn’t have any issues. There are of course nicer systems out there, but those can cost hundreds of dollars.

And Gritomatic is now making a universal stone holder for the work sharp so you can use other stones with the system. I plan to get the holder and more stones.

👏👍Konstantin's gonna be the go-to guy for knife gear within the decade if he keeps this up. Everytime I go over to Gritomatic I see a guy practicing paying attention rather then practicing getting by or worse... and as someone once said, byebye.

I bought one of these myself and I'm very happy with it, but I'm wondering how I'll know when the stones need replacing?

And as far as I know they will also sell clamp adapters soon for the Work Sharp precision adjust to use after market clamps like Blitz, Hapstone R2 and KakBritva clamps on it. Can't wait.

He's already the go-to guy, I reckon.

Use Blitz, KakBritva or small Hapstone R2 clamps on it and it opens up a whole new world.

Did this ever happen to anyone’s knowledge? I got one of these and it’s pretty tough for smaller narrower blades (I can see why the Spydercos aren’t a problem since the blades tend to be taller—the problem is less than the length than the height (no jokes, please)). Frustrating since the rest of it actually works pretty well.

Gritomatic sells aftermarket clamps, aftermarket magnetic platforms and lots of other accessories for the Work Sharp precision adjust system. The magnetic platform (Leading edge universal or core upgrade kit) gives you a lot of flexibility and options.
