if ya havent ever actually seen a jump like that check it out if ya get a chance, i saw robbie jump in '96 ~ 250 or 300, at a nissan dealerships grand opening about a mile from my house, several of my buds are motocross riders and imho completely nutz, they were saying "ya know for the right $$ i might would try that....." before the jump, after the jump?? " no way i'd try that" lol. seeing it live and seeing it on the PC or on TV is 2 different things, the TV/PC dont do it justice imho, its absolutely something else to witness, anyone who does that is nutz regardless of the $$ involved.
i always wondered what robbie got for that jump, always figured $40K or $50K, and remember this was long before his jumps on fox and such, he wasnt real well known at the time, wasnt really any security at the event(was a lotta people though, thousands for sure) i was standing less than 20ft from were he launched, a crazy way to make a living, being a daredevil.
like i said, if ya ever get a chance, go see it.
