Hello all .... I am new here and don't know how to utilize the system... could someone please help ? Specifically, I am looking for information on WWII Mark 2's and how to date them. I was told there was information on here but can't seem to figure out how to find it. Can anyone steer me in the right direction please ?
Many thanks, Mark Stephens

Well for starters, the knives are pre-1974 if it has "NY" stamped on it next to "US Camillus". As for narrowing that timeframe, pictures would be really helpful.

The WW2 knives are stamped on the blade or the guards Camillus NY on one side and usn or usn with mark 2. Camillus did not start to add the US stamping until the Viet nam contracts Those are marked US over Camillus. Post 74 was marked US over Camillus NY. They added a USA stamping to the blades during there last contracts in the 90's. Then the marines went with Onataro.

Just a slight correction, post 1974 knives are US over Camillus, pre 1974 are US over Camillus NY. :)
