i found this on drudgereport.com, absolutly insane a 11 year old kid bagged this boar which was more than 9ft long and 1000+pnds.

That is a big pig, but is it as big as claimed? Hogzilla was not anywhere as big as originally claimed. I don't like the perspective of the photo. How far behind the pig was the kid when the photo was taken?

I think the camera man watched a little too much Citizen Kane.
 
My local fish wrap had the same picture and article......Here is MY feeling.

I believe their might be a pig that big.....I believe that kid had hunted since he was almost in diapers....Here's what I CAN"T believe..An 11 year old kid fired a .50 caliber (FIFTY CALIBER) REVOLVER 8 (eight) TIMES TO KILL THE PIG. I SERIOUSLY DON'T THINK AN 11 YEAR OLD (SIXTH GRADER) COULD HANDLE A .50 CALIBER ROUND. I HAVE NEVER FIRED ONE BUT HAVE SEEN THEM FIRED AT THE LOCAL POLICE RANGE...THE SHELLS LOOK LIKE 410 SHOTGUN SHELLS AND THE COPS THAT FIRED THEM HAD A 2 HAND HOLD AND IT ALMOST KNOCKED THEM ON THEIR ASS......Just my .02 cents...My wife is a teacher at a k-8 school and the 6th graders their can barely pick up their lunch pails.
 
Of all the high power revolvers the worst for recoil is the 500 S&W .Seen many comments about comparisons and many will shoot other cartidges but won't shoot more than one or two rounds of 500 S&W !!! Yes you can get big pigs but I find the common photo practices to make game look larger very obnoxious !!! For someone who rarely fires a second shot [I use a 45-70 single shot] I would not be proud of firing many shots and trailing the animal that long distance !...Since this is Bladeforums how about some comments on what knives to use for skinning and butchering ???
