Worlds Fastest Knife

I was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice on the supposedly worlds fastest knife. (www.belt-buckle-knife.com). I know the guy is a goofball who makes stupid remarks about slapping Mike Tyson, but it could be a decent knife that wont attract to much attention. Probably made out of 440C I'm guessing? It seems pretty useful for any small task, and for self defense as a last ditch. I don't have money for any Microtech or Cold Steel. 1 1/2 inches is pretty small but any bigger may get me into trouble in Ohio, plus I won't be relying heavily on it, just as larger pocket knife.. The knife laws are very hazy here.

Thanks in Advance.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the laws here in ohio.....gotta love criminals keeping self defense tools out of the hands of law abiding citizens...thats about all I have.

Well, if you look at the film the "inventor" needs 4 movements to open his knife. 1 grab the belt bucle, 2 cant the knifeholder, withdraw the knife, open it with a thumstud.
IF i look at how a Emerson or waved spyderco Delica works, it's 1 put your hand hooked with the thumb in your pocket ( unobtrusive) 2 withdraw the knife, and it will flick open automaticaly when you move it out of your pocket.

That's 2 movements less to execute.
That buckle knife has some drawbacks. What if you lying on the ground and someone is sitting on you, can you still grab your knife?
What if you get thrown out of balance right at the moment you open the knifeholder?
And it's illegal due to it's hidden intent. You better get caught with a pocketknife with a wave (it's a bottleopener) then with a hidden knife on your beltbuckle.

i really liked his awards ( and it was about his bike, not his knife "1996- Street Vibrations- Showgirls of Reno Choice") :D

What if you go for your knife and your pants fall down? The bad guy might get the wrong idea.

Yeah, that you are crazy and/or gay! If I was the BG, I'd be outta there!:D

Ok, I'm pretty sure all automatics, switchblades, and balis are out of the question here. What would constitute the legality of a knife? Any knife designed to be invisible here is illegal, but if you think about it, not very many people where knives visibly on their person. I've heard blade lenghts of up to 2 1/2 inches in many places but I'm not sure here. I've checked things like the Benchmade CBK dagger and a few others and they seem like a good bet. If not, then maybe a victorinox Work Champ would be my best bet.

While I don't know that this knife is what it claims to be, I do think that the idea that centerline access is superior to pocket deployment has some merit.

The Arclite and BK11 both accept a tek-lok for belt carry. The Benchmade Tether would be another candidate. Maybe a Wolf Pup or Prairie Fox (I carried the little Fox on my keychain for a long time). I thought I read that HAK had some mid tech stuff in 440C. The Woodswalker by AG Russell is another low cost alternative.

So long as there are no laws prohibiting small fixed blades I think they're a viable option.

I agree,

I carried a TOPS UTE01 tucked behind my belt buckle with a knotted lanyard to secure a quick grip. Easy to access with either hand, the very slim, well thought out kydex sheath with integral clip made this carry very concealable, comfortable and lightning quick to deploy.

Belt buckles are for holding pants up. Belts are for carrying sheaths. No folding knife will ever be as fast as a fixed blade...unless they defy the laws of physics. If the blade has to open, its slower.

Cool product, but the approach he takes equates to a monkey pounding his chest rather than actual information, IMHO....

I dont like the knife, or that guy's advertising at all, attacking other knife designs and being an asshole in general about how much better his product is than everyone elses.

The thing looks like a cheap novelty POS you'd find sitting on a convenience store's counter by the lighter display, or in a box of cheap junk at a flea market.

Waved Emerson (or Spydie) as stated, are much faster. And more usefull and better made in my opinion.

best bet....save some money here and there and get a decent knife. If laws permit...search for the MOD Scorpion Neck Knife, it will run you about 60-70 bucks. Its made of 154cm. www.premiumknives.com sells them.

look around and see what u like...or just move to AZ and every knife magically becomes legal....
