First off I apologise to worldwood for this having taken so long…He asked if I could post a thread on my Eskabar I won from his Karma contest awhile back just to show that it’d been finalised and completed but I’ve had people coming into my house to work on our fence for the past week and after that I kinda lost track of stuff with some other stuff going on…Anyway…

I’ve used it a bit and put a half-decent convex edge via my take on DerekH’s nail file convexing. Basically I just took a strop and cut a piece of sandpaper (I find smoother pieces of sandpaper (180ish) work better for small blades otherwise the edge turns out a little uneven) the same width as the strop and a bit longer in length held it on the strop and began filing away at the shoulders. I find the leather gives less than foam or anything else so it prevents over convexing and rounding off the edge. I only do that to roughly convex the edge and then I go back to the same method I’ve used before by putting the strop and sandpaper on a desk and and then sanding away at the edge. No idea why but it seriously cuts down on time by using the sandpaper as a file (5-20 mins?)rather than several hours by treating the sandpaper as a stone.

After I said I didn’t like the bare metal and cutting myself when trying to wrap the handle my sister offered to 550 wrap it for me which was cool since it turned out much neater than any wrap I could do. Ordered the zytel scales for it too since, whilst it’s cool, I don’t like the wrap as much as scales and sometimes I can’t be stuffed making a set of scales.

I also decided to order a Machax along with the 14…Weirdly enough I find the new coating on these to be les durable than the old…I chopped into one piece of pine and already the coating is wearing away from the edge but I’ve had my BK-9 for 3 times as long as the chax and the old coating on it has barely worn off.

Like almost all my blades I convexed the edge.

Oh yeah, I also learnt how to make removable scales
! It's actually very easy to do...Thanks to Fal'er and Nsvens for the tutorials (Don't have the link to post or remember the specific names but I'm sure you can search it). Also ordered about 200 pieces of stainless tweener and large becker hardware. I have no idea what the length of the BK- 11/14 bolts are so didn’t bother looking for any. I heard 6/32 x 5/8ths but that seems kinda long.

Made these out of multi-cam G-10 with my own “zebra” liners…Basically just pieces of .030” white and black liners epoxied together. I quite like it.

Hex hole shot. I used a dremel engraving bit to drill out the corner parts after I’d drilled the original hole. Not perfect but it's not like I plan on selling any. Strangly enough these only fit the BK-2 I used as a template which is weird since all beckers have the same handle so in theory they should fit. It's not like they're off buy miles or anything, just a millimeter or so but still...

Thats it for now and thanks again (for the 100th time) to you worldwood (and those who helped out and also voted for me
) for running the contest. I do plan on bringing the 14 fishing and since I'm around salt water the coating'll stay for now. I'll add more pics later too.
