worst knife ever...

I think i found it, a $3 frost with a swing-guard made in Pakistan. Butter knives have a tougher reputation than this pointy jelly spreader! The orange bone scales were beautiful, the fit and finish was perfect, but you would have better luck pushing a edge on a Styrofoam cup! I tried for 3 weeks, then had a pro Sharpsmith try. He said he's seen better steel forged by chimps! I've seen some bad knives before but this late example was definitely the worst one ever! I gave it a very fair chance to serve as a "beater" but when it refused to cut even simple packing tape, and squished a banana instead of slicing, I had no option but to sentence it to death by Remington 1100. My wife blew it back to the depths of the dark underworld from which it was obviously constructed from! Good riddance to bad rubbish! $3 is nothing, but poor steel is unacceptable in a cutting tool. Oh well, I don't have to worry about it corrupting my other knives now!!

I had a Rough Ryder Locking Trapper... that didn't lock.
The worst knife ever... no lock, no spring action, no friction, absolutely no way to keep the blade open.
You should have contacted SMKW, even if you didn't buy it from them, they would have given you a new one, or your money back if you did buy it there.

The only 'problem' with worst knives ever is that there's always someone (know-all) who'll swear blind that they have the exact same knife and it's tremendous :D Or else you're being tiresomely picky  and that it's part of the 'charm' of the pattern....and it's traditional ;)

The more you use and handle knives, the more you collect, the higher the bar generally goes. Thus more fall into the worst ever category, low price however, has very little to do with it. Unfortunately..

Absolutely!! I have a friend who prefers the plastic handled frosts, he's actually the one who sold me the perfect frost pocket knife i just gad executed. He swears his junk can hold a edge better than any other brand, yet he's getting through 2 knives a month and recently had 4 stitches in his hand due to a backspacing breaking while he was cutting foam that goes under carpet...

I have a 25 AUD...khukri with a buffalo horn handle....all nice n shiny but rusts before your very eyes...and has the edge holding capacity of a wet sponge....I think its made from car parts.....
