Worth a laugh on messy knifemaker shops

Ok...by all means, I am NOT one of those OCD knifemakers but, recently I've had the opportunity to visit a couple fellow knifemaker shops and was amazed that some of the beautiful work I saw, that came from some of the most messy shops I've ever been in. It was pretty funny actually! I mean...we're talking about about goat trails from one place to another. Now, I know some out there would say the typical safety slogans about this but, it appears that the owner knew exactly where it all fit in. After seeing this, I thought, "I wonder if other knifemaker's are like this?" I know of quite a few who's shops you could eat off the floor but there's always those who do just as beautiful of work that...well...don't take to the broom as much so, how about it?...anyone care to show their messy shop pictures or for that matter CLEAN shop!!??!! It''s just for fun guys, not an attempt to chastise anyone.

I'm in the middle of a large job and I'm also moving some stuff around today - so my shop is ripe with disorderly mess. I didn't even bother to go down to the weld shop - talk about a safety hazard...

Looking down into the machining area (yes, the main lights are off - but it isn't much brighter with the lights on):

AWESOME, Nathan!!

You know, you get busy, you have other priorities, and before you know it - you have a goat trail...

It has gotten where I have to be careful walking around in there in places. Time for a major clean out.

I will get everything arranged just so. Then I start a project and then 1/2 way through another one as I work on them I also create chaos. Yjen one day I will start cleaning and reorganizing which will lead to a project and of course that leads to another round of chaos.

The only time my shop was ever clean and organized was when I first built it.

Since then it has an accumulation of all sorts of knife and non knife related crap. I often have to push stuff out of the way just to get some open work bench area to work on.

I have a maker friend in Venice, Italy who works in a closet...... very cluttered... not messy but his work is outstanding.
