years ago I bought a HF 1x30 sander for sharpening tasks (this was based on a YT video, and was before I knew better) and for a few first attempts at grinding blades. when I ran screaming away from it and got my 2x72 grinder, it has sat unused in a storage room, because I did not have room for it on my workbench. Now, with my upcoming move, I will have room in the new location to perch it on a workbench. Question, have people here who have one of these machines found it useful to hold onto for miscellaneous non-critical sanding tasks? I keep going back and forth on this ..... on one hand with moving and downsizing I am definitely operating on a "get rid of everything I am not using" frame of mind, but on the other hand this little thing is easily put into a small/medium box to be taken to the new location. anyone have any thoughts/experiences with this?

I have the same dilemma, a move, and could do away with some old-ish motorized tools that have gathered dust. (Mainly because they have been buried in my overloaded shop! My fault over the years.) That said, I am going to take them all, unless they have deteriorated so badly, to use in my new shop. There are quick, small tasks that I can do on them, that don't need two inch wide belts and variable speeds. I have the one inch belts and figure I can rough in stuff, grind pins, all kinds of things with out wasting the more expensive belts that I have done in the past. And I have a real challenge throwing things away........

Thats kind of what i was thinking i could use it for. I guess it goes into a box then!

It's hard to be logical with your stuff. I've moved 4 times since '06, and probably paid about $1/lb on average. That 110 lb heavy bag that I paid $100 for and rarely use has to have $500 in it now... think I'll go hit the heavy bag.
