Worth holding on to?

So a buddy gave me a Leatherman SuperTool 200 for sharpening up his knives. I didn't notice it when I accepted it, but it's rather beat up. The file has pretty dull, the saw's tips are all pretty dull, and there's two big dents on the wire cutters where someone tried to cut something that was too hard, and now there's burrs on it so big that the jaws of the pliers don't move smoothly.

Also, I've never seen a Leatherman with those weird levers on the back to release the blades. I was wondering though, one of them is fairly loose, and the other is really tight. The one that is loose is easier to unlock though, so I"m wondering which one is broken, the loose or the tight one?

I don't know if this thing is even worth fixing up. Pretty much everything that I would have found useful about it is trashed.

yeah send it in they should send you the new supertool 300 to replace it , and you will be pleased for sure

Oh, wow, didn't even think of the warranty as I didn't purchase it. I'll check that out.

Send it in, Leatherman's service is on par with ESEE/Rat Cutlery (IMHO). They take care of their customers.

New Super Tool 200 came today in the mail. I guess they had a bunch left over to give me, schucks. :P Guess that just means I can buy a Surge--those scissors look sweet.

Anyway, yeah, Leatherman came through for me.

Oh, FYI, don't rip apart their yellow manilla envelopes unless you want jean stuffings everywhere.
