I'm interested in joining the AKTI, what with the knee-jerk reaction against even nail clippers and sewing scissors. We blade afficionadoes need all the help we can get. Is it worth joining the AKTI?

Can anyone tell me if that group has succeeded in changing anyone's opinion, or in revising any laws, or in fending off any legislation? In other words, are they any good?

We all know what happens when the NRA brings its force to bear on an issue. How does the AKTI stack up?

AKTI is a relatively new organization, but its website lists two modest success stories. It is the only knife rights lobbying organization of which I am aware, and it will not have true power until it has the membership to back it up.

Yes, it most certainly is worth joining AKTI. Every knife owner should be a member, just as every gun owner should belong to the NRA (despite valid criticisms that have been and can be made of both organizations).

It is definitely worth joining. Simply because it's the only group we have fighting for us.

Yep, I sent them my $35 yesterday.

Figured as a member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association), NRA and CSSA (Colorado State Shooting Association) it only made sense.

Absolutely worth while joining..As stated, it's the only organization out there representing us.

I joined to show support for the knife industry and an organization that is fighting to uphold the rights of knife owners. This organization does nothing in Canada, but if knife laws get more restrictive in the U.S. then it would not be long before the same thing happened in Canada.

After what has just happened we will need the AKTI more than ever. They need our support.
