Worth returning original Flashback for update?

I have one of the original Flashback knives and when I got it, I was certainly not happy with how much pressure was required to open and close it. I EDC'd it for a while and maybe got used to it, or maybe it loosened up a bit. I heard about SOG releasing the updated version which is said to be 25% easier to open and close. I contacted SOG and they pleasantly told me I could send my Flashback in for warranty service on this issue.

What I am wondering is, is it really worth doing? Yeah, it is a bit stiff, but I don't think it is terribly so. I guess I am mainly interested in hearing from people who have used both versions... is it worth the effort of sending it back? Do you loose any opening speed with the reduction of pressure needed to open it, or any other disadvantages to the updated version? Any opinions on this are very much appreciated!

Definitely worth sending back to SOG imo. I'm much happier with the new model. I sent mine in and it was back on my doorstep within 10 days. I didn't notice any loss of speed whatsoever.

Ditto. I sent mine back to fix another issue w the blade centering. They gave me a new one and it was an 8 day turn around time. They also sent me a Micron which I immediately threw away (not really but it'll just collect dust or thrown in my trunk of my car)

Thanks, my Flashback is already at SOG, I await it's return. Thinking of also sending my SlimJim (should have done it at the same time!), as the assist doesn't open it fully, even when the pivot is loosened.
