I got an old straight razor, that belonged to my wife's grandfather. It is in rough shape, but I am considering trying to refurbish it to use. I currently use a cheapo modern timber rattler razor, but this is an old George wostenholm and sons celebrated I*XL razor washington works sheffield. 4 lines of text on the tang, fine india steel etched on the blade.
It has what I think is a horn handle, split by the pivot pin on one side. I will try to get pics up if this is helpful.
So I tried to find some info about them and found a very old post about them on a different forum. Rather than necropost there, I figured I would ask here. Can anyone help me figure out the age?

Depending in its condition, those make very good shavers. Good luck with the restoration.
