Would a Chris Reeve limited edtion be worth alot of money in the future?

Chris Reeve folders in general maintain their value pretty well and they sell. However, like any knife, any wear will decrease the value slightly (or drastically-depending on amount of use). The Starbenzas specifically will be worth more than a standard Sebenza but the rate at which they appreciate in value really depends on the demand for them and how few are ultimately made.

They would have to be NIB condition. Normal Sebenzas without inlays or graphics can be refurbished at a cost. Though I believe the others cannot be due to the finish and/or the graphics.

My limited editions (both left hand, pretty rare) won't be worth much of extra in the future because I use them both from EDC to camping. They are too nicely made to just look at. :D

Actually, I have had several decorated Sebenzas refurbished and they do an icredible job making them like new.

Oh yeah. Worth lots & lots of money. Truckloads of money!

Serious now:

While CRK knives seem to hold their value pretty good, knives are usually a poor investment.

Kind regards,

Jos

PS: Welcome to the forums!

They're only worth what someone is willing to pay, "when your hot your hot, when your not your not" (great song) pretty much sums it up. Never buy anything for resale unless your willing to take a lose.

If the CRK knife stays completely mint with the original paperwork and boxes, and it gets discontinued it will typically increase somewhat in value. But as stated above, knives in general are usually not very good investments. For every one that jumps up in value, there are dozens that fade. Buy what you want and what appeals to you personally, and think of the resale value as a secondary consideration would be my advice.

As it seems with most CRK's, especially popular ones like the Star-Benza, they only get more valuable as they get older, as long as they're in good shape.
