Would a large Case coke bottle be heavier than this Case Toothpick?

I really like my bone (cow?) toothpick, but it is a real lightweight blade, which is why I only used it to open envelopes. Before I seriously consider trading for a larger Case coke bottle, I was hoping someone here might be familiar with both, and could confirm that the coke bottle would have a thicker blade.

Here are some pics of my toothpick.

All thoughts appreciated.

I dont have a Case large Coke Bottle knife so I don't know. My first thought however is that you have a beautiful knife and it easily can do most box opening, tag removing, etc. tasks. As long as it is not abused the knife should hold up.

If you need something heavier maybe try a Sodbuster or Sodbuster Jr. NO slippie is going to stand up to the abuse you see people doing on youtube to knives. And you will find it does not really need to in day to day life.

...but, to answer your question, a full-size Coke Bottle will usually have a thicker blade than a toothpick. I'm not sure about the way Case does it, since they tend to view most of their knife production from a collectors' standpoint (vs. that of someone who buys a knife as a working tool), so they very well may use the same thin blade stock on their large coke bottles. Queen (and hence Schatt & Morgan) uses nice thick blade stock on theirs, and the older ones (the Kabars, etc.) will also tend to be thicker than most toothpick blades.

So, generally: Yes, a coke bottle will have a thicker blade than a toothpick.
As far as Case's current production, I cannot verify, since I don't buy many "new" Case knives (for various reasons).

I don't think they're in the current line, but Case's largest coke bottle patterns (C61050 pattern) are sized in the same league as their folding hunters, i.e. 5-3/8" inches closed, and broader in width w/thicker blade. The big bolsters/caps add a lot of weight on knives this large. If that's the 'large' coke bottle you're referring to, I'm sure it'd be heavier & bulkier than a toothpick, and by a pretty large margin. Even the largest toothpicks, though similar in length, are pretty light/thin patterns overall. Case's current toothpick offerings are much smaller, in comparison with the older patterns.

Yes. The large coke bottle by Case is heftier and weighs a lot more.

Thanks much everyone. I love the toothpick design but my Case feels delicate compared to my S&M.
