Would a modern day MacGyver still use a Swiss Army Knife?

With all the options available when it comes to multi-tools, do you think a modern MacGyver would be tempted to switch from his trusty SAK? If so, what would he switch to?

I don't see him lugging around a leatherman, though I suppose it's possible. I'm kind of leaning that he'd still use a SAK.

A while ago I enjoyed some of the old episodes on YouTube. He uses the blade of his SAK mostly and sometimes a screw driver. I think a modern MacGyver will still stick to using such basic tools, but perhaps adds pliers to his options. In case he wants to have pliers, I think one of the basic models of the Leatherman Juice line, probably the S2, would we his choice. Or a Squirt P4 maybe. Just like in the old days, he'd probably have a range of multitools to choose from.

I think a Skeletool would also be a good combination of those

the old days are gone
and present knife carry challenges
might see a switch to even smaller
non-locking tools as in the

MacGyver would definitely carry a SAK because the overwhelming percentage of his viewers recognize it as the all purpose gizmo that anyone could carry. In reality  , he would probably rely on some variety of a pliers based multi-tool because it is more useful, but the masses would be perplexed, thinking it was something exotic or maybe just made up for the series. Kind of like the Star Trek flip phone communicator... oh, wait.

Did they have to pick a member from Hanson to be the new Macgyver?? Sheesh.

They'll never be able to replace the original. I miss the 80's!
