I picked up a Spanish Cetme M-1969 bayonet from a flea market for about $10 a year or so ago. It's got roughly an 9" blade (8" sharpened). It looks like someone, at one point, tried to sharpen it and gave up. The edge is pretty dull all over. It barely cuts paper with the first couple inches, and then it does nothing passed that.
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to sharpen this knife for free (I would pay for shipping there and back)? I know bayonets aren't really made to be sharp, but I looked this thing up and it's worth more to me as a functional tool than it is to any collector as a piece of history. IIRC it was just an overstock piece. It never saw action, and there's billions of em.
I don't have the correct tools to sharpen such a large blade efficiently as my coarse stone is only a 4x2. I'm not sure of the blade material at all, if anyone knows please feel free to pass on the info. Pics are all over online, but if you guys would like some of mine I'd be happy to take some!
