Would anyone else like to see a different pocket clip on the seb?

First off,.. SEBs are AWESOME!
Okay..... Since Sebs are so awesome, I think it would be fitting that Sebs should have more of a pen style single piece milled clip.
It would be FINE with me if there was an extra charge or whatever to screw it in yourself!
Pocket clips that bend, or even that have the potential to bend, are one of my BIG pet peeves!
Here's something like I'm referring to, by Matt Cucchiara.
And I believe this type of clip is already made for the mnandi

I LOVE the seb pocket clip! but i wouldnt mind an option for an aftermarket clip like that...thats a great clip design as it doesnt look like a knife clip at all!

I think that is the exact reason some people like the Mnandi clip so much. It also does not look like a normal clip.

I like the Sebenza clip as it is because I think it works and fits well with the design of the knife, but the Mnandi clip is wonderful and perfect for the knife. Each style clip has its place on the right style knife.

I also LOVE the Sebenza clip. It works perfectly the way it is. I DO Love Matt's carved clips too.

The Sebenza's clip in one of the best if you're talking about function. There are 2 areas which are points of contact on the clip. Most others have only 1. The Mnandi clip is fine for the smaller folders but probably won't work as well on larger size folders.
There are lots of clips that are prettier but ot many that do the job as well as Sebenza's clip.

I like the sebenza clip the way it is. It fits and works excellent for its intended purpose and it works great as part of the lock tension as well, very well thought out by Chris Reeve. On a unique graphic, it might be nice to have a more decorated style, but since the back is plain, it might look out of place............As for the mnandi clip, let me first say the mnandi is a work of art and the clip is no exception. For it to be machined from a piece of titanium is amazing and the detail is absolutely amazing also. But it fits the mnandi, I dont really think that style of clip would work on the sebenza. The larger lockbar on the sebenza relies in part to the springyness ( dont know if thats a word..lol ) of the clip. They both fit their respective knives perfectly for my tastes.

from my experience the normal sebenza pocket clip is one of the best out there, i wouldnt change anything about it.

I like the standard clip but also wouldn't mind another option.

The factory clip has a drawback for me in that the up sweep at the very end has caught on my (un-tucked) shirts a few times and has sometimes ripped holes in them. Something flatter might be worth it for me...

I've mistakenly bent my sebenza clip and could never get the tension right again. It's also got caught on my messenger bag a few times and pulled the knife out of my pocket and onto the ground.

I just go clipless in a belt sheath now.

I like the Sebenza's clip, but it has a tendency to rotate slightly about the single screw. Not far, but enough for me to notice that it's not straight. It's scored an arc in my lock bar (not that I care about the finish!)

I can tighten the screw down, but that only makes it harder to rotate; it doesn't make the problem go away.

Unfortunately, I don't see an easy improvement. I had hopes that the Umnumzaan would have a two-screw clip, but no dice.

I love the simplicity of the clip. Personally, I am not a huge fan of those specialty embellished clips. YMMV

I like the clip style, the only thing I would change would be to make it slightly stronger, but I prefer strong clips.

That's pretty much my beef with 95% of the clips out there.
I'd prefer something that's completely bend proof.

i love the clip as is.

i would also consider another option if one existed. change can be good.

i actually completely understand what you're saying Holygoat. Given it's kind of hard to explain but ill try to add my 2 cents.

I have had a few sebenza's now and at least two of them arrived to me with the clips a little bit loose. Each had already left little arc marks on the lock bar. with only 1 screw, there becomes a perfect pivot point for the clip to move. Now i understand the handle is milled out for the shape of the clip but there's actually just a hair space on both sides for it too move.

If the screw is not tight enough there will be play. the other negative point to bring up is that for some reason, in my experience, the clip screw has a totally different tension tolerance than the other screws and is much much easier to strip, which obviously makes the issue of wanting it tighter even more difficult.

otherwise, i love the sebenza clip design. assuming it's tight without play the functionality of it is flawless. i love the two point system someone mentioned earlier and i love the sleek look it achieves while in pocket.

For EDC, I prefer the low profile, wire clips that Spydeco uses to the Sebenza clip. Also, the very tip of the Sebenza clip isn't parallel to the knife, so it tends to stick out and scratch things like cars and furniture. The two retention points of the Sebenza clip are nice though.

those Spydie wire clips are about the best design out there (IMHO).

they're sold, low-profile and their lack of edges saves my pockets.
