Would anyone else want "Trac-Tec" inserts?

That's what Kershaw calls it on their Blur. Microtech uses the same or similar. I like the hard grippy texture set perfectly into the handle of my Mini SOCOM. I have been thinking really hard about a Sebenza, and the inlay models got me thinking about my favorite inlays. I called and they don't have this available, but I was wondering if any of you Sebenza collectors thought it was a good idea.

It's cool because it's not rubber at all. It looks like a sand and epoxy mix, with the gritty stuff sort of poking through the epoxy but not quite. It's like a more agressive form of a floor coating that is sometimes used to prevent slippery floors. Someone told me it's used on some skateboards too, but I wouldn't know for sure. Microtech also uses rubber inserts on some models, which I don't care for.

It's basically sand paper and total crap. I liken it to skateboard grip tape which isn't far from the truth really. It chews up your jeans and is very uncomfortable to hold. If you want an inlay in a Sebenza you should get the Micarta Classic. Not only is it grippy, it doesn't eat your jeans and looks alot better.

I'm going to have to side with Collucci on this one. I have never been a fan of the skateboard tape on the MT knives. It is hard one your hands during long use, it is hard on your pockets during no use and it is just not that attractive (in my opinion).

For a "grippier" inlay on CRKs I think a textured micarta or G10 would be more appropriate.

Hello,

What would you say about Rayskin inserts as an option instead of the calfskin?

That would be great in my opinion...

What do you think?

Adam

The SOCOM only has the tractec on one side, so it clips on my pocket with no problem. But I see CR puts an insert on the reverse too.

I would prefer to have the micarta inserts flush with the handle.
