I am looking into getting a BK-2. I just don't want to pay for one. haha No, I'm not asking for you guys to give me one. I just don't even know if its worth posting in the trade forum that I have a SRK or a Recon tanto to trade for one. I don't think anyone would take me up on that. Seriously?! Who would want to trade their BK-2?? haha Just wanna know what you guys think. Thanks- Josh.

Cold dead hands and all that. :p :D

Well, my reply is partly due to the difficulty of procuring another Camillus version.
You might find someone willing to give up a more easily obtained KaBar. :p

Why not sell the SRK and Tanto on the exchange, get you a BK2 and some Micarta? Seems logical to me, that you could get a fair value for them, as they are both great knives.

No, not a chance in hell of getting mine.:D

Slight difference in steel and a different heat treatment.
You're right about the skeletonized tang from what I gather.
I don't have a Gen II Campanion though it is on the list.

Hey Dude - I don't know anything regarding your financial situation, but if you are interested enough to post on here, and truly want a "do it all" outdoors knife, then pony up the (measly) $65 or so for a Kabar BK2. Then beat the living hell out of it. You'll give this knife to your grandkids, it is that kind of knife. Anyone else feel free to flame me here, as I have only had mine for about 3 months. But I have beat it up pretty good - including today, where I chopped down another 30 or so small beech trees - and it is proving a lot tougher than I am. Oh, and get a sheath from Moose on Becker forum. THEN you're good to go.

Go put it up for trade and see if you get any bites. If I really wanted a recon tanto, I would probably do it. I don't, so I am not your man.

I am very fond of my BK2 - but it is not some super rare custom. The web site that sounds like tall women got the last one to me in 2 days, I am sure they can send me another one.

Someone walks up to me tomorrow and offers me $100 for my BK2 - it's gone. I'll have a new one by Tuesday and $35 extra in my pocket.

I'm with Guyon on this one, I don't want to have to track down another Camillus model. I will say one thing, don't eat for a few days and put the cash toward the knife cause you might be hungry but you will feel satisfied.

I don't put micarta on my beckers. I take a rubber tube like thing and it fits tightly to the handle, providing not only a better grip than grivory, but a cushion effect as well.

I'm not saying that its top-of-the-line best knife ever, but I don't know of someone that wants to get rid of a BK-2 for a Recon Tanto. I just don't see it happening, and I have no idea why.

Pictures of this????
