I sure would like some of that spear pointed goodness. Ideally it would be a HD-7 with the A blade with wave. mmmm i could only hope:rolleyes:
Anyone else wana see the A's make a return.

They are back! Give them a call. They finished a run of them a couple weeks ago. Not sure if they are waved????
 
They are sold out at EKI on those.

There are a few on flea bay but they are out of Canada.

not me, i never liked the SP EKI's, had a specwar and a '7 and prefer a tanto on both.

folks say CG EKI's cut funny, imho the SP EKI's are one that i have found to cut funny and be difficult to sharpen, lotsa folks like 'em but i have never seen the attraction myself.

ya'll can have all of 'em lol.
 
SIFU1A, I think the reason they cut funny is the double ground Emersons are really very thick at the edge. Very. My friend's mini-com was 0.050 at the edge near the ricasso and 0.085 near the tip. But after a regrind by Tom, the blade is now like a scalpel. True, it no longer has the type of strength but how many of us really want to pry with our knives? ok, some do, but I think for the majority of us, we prefer the knives to cut and slice.

I like the spearpoint blades best, like a Viper 4, hehe.

My own m-wave is one mean slicing machine.
 
I like the 7's either way. SP or tanto. I have a couple of the BM 970's and outstanding knives in every respect. I also currently have a SP coated PE that I did get off evil bay from Canada, and have to say it is one of the finer 7a's I have ever had. I don't quite understand myself why this one stands out for me, but it is probably the only EKI I have had out of the box that I didn't feel the need to resharpen. I mean this sucker is as sharp as any commercially made knife I have ever purchased. Needle sharp tip too. Also the liner lock looks a bit thicker to me also. Hey those could be all the reasons it feels/looks better?

I also just picked up a 14 pse low serial #14 too. I wish it was a pe for being such a small blade but this just well be my favorite EKI of all including the Commander series I like so much. Oh yea as sharp as the 7a too. Now if they would only come out with a super 14 I would be all set for the rest of my natural life with knives if I could obtain this one! :) keepem sharp
 
I have two 7As, one w/ s#, one without. The one w/o is in regular EDC rotation. A 7AHD would be nearly perfect.
 
I would love a new SF 7A w/out the wave. I just put 80 amps through my old one and now it looks funny with the big hole in the blade. BTW- thanks to the Ti and G-10 I didn't feel a thing (except the jabs from my wife about being an idiot).
