Would appreciate some lanyard suggestion please.

Santa was kind to me, he brought me a ZT 0560 Hinderer Elmax.

I would like to add a lanyard and would appreciate some suggestion, hopefully with pics. I'd like to do it myself. Maybe 550 cord? Leather?
