All,

In reading about a certain deal posted on here a couple days ago, the bk4 and 15, among others, are on sale at a price i cant say no to. Im curious though, i hadnt ever even considered a 4 until it went on sale, as 100 bucks is alot for a machete in my mind. Now im curious, do you guys like the 4 and do you think the 4 and 15 would cover the big knife/small knife combo? I know im gonna be told to get both anyway, but would personally think the bk4 would be a better chopper than a bk9. From what ive read, the 15 is a great slicer and processor as well, which would cover alot of bases. Whatcha think?

Personally i like the bk11/14 with the bigger knives like that. But any of the tweeners like the 15 will work too. Just personal pref.

should i just wait and save for the 9? I will eventually have all of them, but at that price pretty hard to pass up.

The 4 is outstanding. Paired with a 15 it would be a great set up. I say jump on it.

That would a great combo for sure!

The 4 is an awesome woods knife and the 15, is well, way underrated. It's great for all sorts of things and I don't think enough people give it a try. I love mine.

But I have to admit, I am partial to the 16 and usually take that with me but the 15 can handle the same tasks and is better for food prep. For hunting I do take both.

Especially processing deer meat. That 15 gets right in there and slices it just how I need it too. The 16 is a little better skinner but I have used the 15 too and did just fine.

If you had an 11/14/24, a 15, and a 4 you would be set. Later on get 9 and rotate them out.

Anyway, that's just my two cents.

Good luck on your decision.

That was my main combo for over a year. I still use both of them regularly, but these days the 15 is in my kitchen and I take the 16 and the 4 with me into the woods.

Love the combo, it will serve you well.

Can't speak for the 15, but the 4 is awesome.

Ok, went ahead and pulled the trigger! I got the 4 and 15 for $107 with free shipping! Awesome deal! Now i will have the 2,4,7,and 15!

I recently received a 15 from the man himself. I love this knife! I have yet to put it through any paces outdoors, but it has helped me de-bone 3 chickens, make thin slices of pork chops, assisted me in making 5 or 6 salads (chopping carrots, cucumbers, peppers, celery, and cherry tomatoes). It has excelled at every cutting task that I have presented it with (even carving pumpkins)! I love the balance and feel, and would recommend this knife to anybody.

Above in this thread, Dex from Coyle Outdoors has some pretty awesome deals going on, I highly recommend you check out his site.

The 4 is a great blade once you get used to it. It will do everything you ask of the 9... It just may not chop as well until you get used to the snap cut.... As for the 15 I just recently got one and all I can say is holy ####... I never gave this knife much attention before. I had intended to buy it eventually but then I saw a post that they may be discontinued soon so I jumped on one and my only regret is not buying one before. It slices like no ones business. Feels great in the hand can take any and all bushcrafting type jobs you can thing of. You can battling with it but since you would be getting the 4 I wouldn't bother. I will carry my 16 on my belt when in the woods but the 15 is making the trip as well just so I can try them both to see how they stack up after I get more used to the 15.
