hi all
I have a sebenza 21. I got it from knife art. I know there are great counterfeits on the market.
Now I know my knife is legit but I have no box nor the stuff that came with it.
Long story short my man cave was turned into a nursery for baby girl. My wife got a little happy throwing stuff away.
Should I ever want to sell or trade it is no box a deal breaker when it comes to a knife such as a sebenza
Just wanted people's thoughts.
May not be worth the hassle of ever trying to deal it in any way.

I've purchased both with and without box and papers. If it's your first Sebenza I suggest you never sell it. Try to hold on to it. But if you have to sell it, you'll lose some by not having the box/papers but not a ton. Box/papers make more of a difference on collectibles.

It's not a deal breaker, but you won't get top dollar for it. Selling without the box and paperwork is a hassle because you have to prove it's legit to the potential buyer. You can always send it in to get a generic box and a reissued bday card. That would prove its the real deal.

The birth card will be the present date , rather then the original. If yours has been a user, they can refurbish it while it is there-no charge for basic spa treatment.
I doubt you would have much trouble selling it on BF without the box & papers. I have bought and sold many without.

Don't spa it just to get papers. They don't add to the value for most buyers. I personally look for users with/out papers just to get a better deal.

If they don't add to the value, how do you get the better deal, by buying without papers. I would agree they don't add more to the value then the cost (shipping both ways) to get the papers and box. I have found it to be a wash, and not matter which course I took-my net comes out about even.

The spa papers don't add any more value than no papers to many. That's the value for me.

Just for clarification
I should have said sending out for re-issued birthcard, box and spa treatment(re-blasted handles, tune up and factory sharpened blade) usually comes out a wash to selling it as is after shipping costs. I usually get it all if I send it in before selling(fully disclosed of course). Certain knives I feel it makes for an easier sale getting the work done, on others I sell as is. As I said I don't land up with more money, but sometimes an easier sale. The only time I would send in for just the papers is if there was some ? on authenticity.
