I found a cold steel frontier hawk at a thrift store for 5.99 and bought it but I have a slight problem... the damn head dont wanna stay in place. I sanded down the shaft and put the head on and it was really tight then I went outside and threw it, it stuck true the first time I tossed it but when I pulled it out the head was falling down the handle. Every time I thought I had got it tight it would fall down the handle when I took it out of the target. If I put some Gorilla Glue on the shaft and the head would it help it hold for more than one damn throw............

I wouldn't suggest using glue. Why don't you try soaking your hawk in a bucket of water overnight, the wood will expand and lock the head into position.

I soaked it in the sink for a couple of hours and took and wiped the blade off, I bounced the handle on the floor and it didnt fall down the shaft again, I'll see how it hold's up to throwing tommarow. Thanks for the help........

With a nicely finished eye and a precision fitted handle you don't have these problems which are very common with commercial hawks.
After the eye is finished and polished, and the handle is precision hand fitted for full bearing all around, swab the eye heavily with linseed oil, press the handle in with at least a solid 4-ton pressure, and let it set for a few days for the linseed oil to dry.
Works well for the ones I make, but if I remember right the eye taper on the CS hawks is a bit steep and it is hard to get a tight fit.

There are epoxies that you can buy that are specially made to handle vibration, I would try one of those. I had the same problems that you did with the CS tomahawk that I have. To fix it I had to shape both the eye and the handle. Once that is done don't be afraid to put it on tight. I just beat it on with a hammer, the whole head is hard so there is no danger of deforming it. Realize that for friction fits, roughly the same amount of impact that you use to put it on will take it off.

Once you get the handle wet, you'll always
have to get it wet in order for it to tighten
up.
