Hey guys,
Would it be possible to RIT dye a Spyderco Sage 3 in blue G10? I don't own one but I'm trying to find a used on for a good price so I can do some mods to it (RIT dyed black, darkened clip, and maybe a stone wash if the used one I would get had scratches). And do you know where I could get an aftermarket black clip like on the Sage 1?

Thanks,
JF

EDIT:And do any of you guys know how difficult the Sage 3 is to take apart and reassemble?

yes possible. But colors will be darker.
what color are you shooting for

I don't think you can dye a darker color lighter. You would have bleach the black first. But I am not even sure you could bleach G10. Sorry, that is the the limit of my knowledge. :o

What color are your scales right now.

I don't actually own the knife. I wanted to know if it was possible if I were to get one, because I don't really like the color it comes in. It comes in blue like this:

If I have black G10, does anybody know what colors work?
Matt

I am almost 100% sure if your going to use dye, the color will turn out darker than the original because the original color affects the outcome. It's not like paint, where it just covers over the original color. So any dye you would use on black wouldn't have much of an effect :(.

TRADE THE SCALES FOR BLACK.

RIT dye will also do the trick but somebody might want your
blue.

If you choose to dye.
Black Rit dye. Its easy get it hot and soak over night
Check out youtube.
