... to buy a plainedge endura, and have it sent in to be "partially serrated?" like the old delicas and enduras used to be?

Lothar,

The Endura is still currently available in 50/50 configuration, as far as I know.

ok... color me stupid then. Most of the ones I've seen (I was looking for one in a stainless handle... I guess I should have mentioned that...) were either straight up plainedge, or serrated, so I didn't think I could get em that way (50/50) anymore.

Greetings Lothar~
The stainless Delicas and Enduras are only available in fully serrated or fully PlainEdge. It's worth a shot to call our warranty dept and put your request to them. Their number is 800-525-7770 ext.260.
Good luck :)
Aloha~

Hi Jeff. No plans at this time. The SS Enduras and Delicas are meeting a price point. We don't want to lower quality in fit, finish or lock strength, so we have to use a lesser steel. AUS-6 is not a bad steel and certainly better than many.

Sal,

Thanks for the confirmation about this. I recall your explaining the "price point" philosophy to me when I first began visiting the Forums, regarding the Endura line I believe. I also may have asked the question about the Delica II knives when the announcement about the change to VG-10 on the FRN Delica/Endura models was made. If I repeated my self here, please excuse.

In any case, I'm sure when I do get around to buying the stainless Delica that I will be perfectly happy with AUS-6.

Thanks, Jeff/1911.
