So I was at my grandfathers house yesterday looking through a bunch of his stuff looking for a nipple wrench for his muzzleloader, well while looking for it I came across a knife. Now my grandpa had a bunch of old knives, many of which now belong to me except his 2 schrade knives, 1 stockman that he used until last year and his schrade barlow that I bought him. Now, this knife is in fairly good condition, it has a little rust, which I should look into removing, and its dull, which I can sharpen up.

On the tang it says "Prov.Cut.Co" then beneath that "Prov.R.I.USA"

So odviously this knife is from Providence Rhode Island, it has what looks like red bone scales, I'll post some pictures up as soon as I can. I'd love to learn some more about this knife. Thanks :D

Providence Cutlery Co made very inexpensive low quality knives with hollow metal shell handles that had a thin plastic covering - similar to Imperial and Colonial. I do not know when they started business but they went under circa 1987.

There are some older knives pre WWII with a similar brand name though the word PROVIDENCE would be spelled out. I do not know if it was the same company. I would have to see pictures.
