Would MOLLE back for ESEE-5/6 fit on kydex for Junglas?

Hi. I am getting ready to buy a Junglas and ESEE-5. I love ESEE's MOLLE back for the ESEE-5 and likewise the one for the Junglas. Unfortunately, the one for the Junglas is black only. I prefer olive drab green. I am thinking of buying an extra MOLLE back for the ESEE-5/6 and trying to fit it on the Junglas kydex. Would it work?

I hope the width of the ESEE-5 and Junglas are about the same in order to do this. I am getting a custom olive drab green kydex made for both of them (since again, only available in black), so I can have the holes for the chicago screws custom aligned. The only thing I worry about is the width of the Junglas being too much bigger than the ESEE-5.

Not sure, but excellent question. I also like OD green, and I will watch this thread to see if anyone has the answer.

Yeah, also need to know if the handle retention strap will fit the Junglas as well. From precursory research it appears that the ESEE-5's handle is bigger around than the Junglas, so it seems that's not an issue.

hi, the molle back for the 5 and 6 is too narrow to fit the junglas sheath, the handle of the junglas is bigger around than the 5 or 6 by quite a bit. the retention strap is adjustable on the the molle back for the 5 and 6 but as i said the junglas sheath is about 3/4 of an inch wider.

Thanks for the reply.

What about something like this:

Excuse the rough sketch, my handwriting and so forth.

Basically there would be a kydex sheet adapter attached via chicago screws (perhaps with a spacer to keep the kydex adapter flat since the junglas kydex sheath is convex) to the back of the junglas kydex sheath.

This kydex adapter would have four columns of holes*. Two outer columns to attach it to the junglas kydex sheath and the inner columns for attaching the ESEE-5/6 MOLLE back. Likewise, the ESEE-5/6 MOLLE back would attach to the kydex adapter via chicago screws (no spacer needed, since both are essentially flat).

This would allow the thinner ESEE-5/6 MOLLE back to be able to fit on the Junglas, thus allowing the user to have OD and khaki (provided they replace the original kydex sheath, which I intend on doing).

Do you think this would work, and not be a problem as far as extra bulk and be secure?

* Wrote "for" instead of "four" on drawing, oops!

sure it would work and easy to do, only thing i would do is heat the kydex for your plate to shape it to the back of the junglas sheath.

Aye. I've contacted Mashed Cat about doing the sheath as I want an OD green kydex sheath made, as well as the kydex adapter made/molded and the whole thing put together. I could probably do it myself but I don't have any of the tools currently. Plus I'm sure they can do a better job. :)
