It does not have a belly but the tip is a bit raised isn't it?

How could this design work for the chokwe people? If it does not skin game?

I'm not sure how the Chokwe people use it but I would choose a real skinner for skinning myself - I have a Chokwe but I wouldn't grab it first to skin game.

You could use it, afterall when I was a kid we used Old Timer single blade Trapper knives for skinning small game all the time (coon, rabbit, squirel, etc.).

For bigger game, such as deer, I'd rather have a knife with more rounded edge surface.

If its all you had, it would work just fine.. I hate recurve blades for 99% of the cutting I do, but for he other 1% (skinning) they are perfect.. The best 2 skinners Ive ever used are:

A Schrade Sharpfinger

I love my Echo setup, I just wish it was a little better than AUS8.. Ive dressed and butchered a good size elk with nothing but that and a fillet knife with no problems. As I said, that chokwe would work just fine, it just wouldnt be my first choice.

Personally, I'd want a blade with plenty of belly for skinning. Among Spyderco's folders the C83 Persian would be my first choice, but I'd faster use a Lava than a near straight edged blade like the Chokwe.
