Would there be a market......

I am not sure if this is the proper place to post this. If not, moderator please move or delete.

Several years ago I gave the liner locks a try, mainly just to try and make one. I designed several, but only made two of the simplest designs, since the mechanism was the point of interest. As it turned out, making all the parts by hand with files and a jewelers saw was extremely labour extensive, and I only completed the three knives. I gave two away to family members, and sold one. (The one with the damascus handle)
Since then I have had a number of requests for these designs. But since I honestly have no interest in making any more liner locks, I have turned down all requests. It has been suggested that I approach some of the knife companies to see if they would be interested in adding the designs to their line of products. I am not convinced that a market exists for what would essentially be a gent`s tactical.
Since I truly appreciate all the expert opinions on this forum, I would be glad for any comments and thoughts on this.

Sorry for the poor quality of the attached photographs, but I only have these snapshots for these pieces.
Wolfgang

Wolfgang, from what I've seen, much of your genius is found in your talent for design. It might be a nice supplement to your income to have a larger company license your designs, and since you won't be offering them yourself anyway, you wouldn't be competing with yourself if you catch my drift.

The first knife pictured is a fantastic design, and if Benchmade or Kershaw were to release a production version, I would have one myself in very short order.

Wolfgang, the more I look at that knife of yours, the more I admire it. I have now replaced my excellent Michael Walker desktop wallpaper with the picture you supplied. What a sweet knife!

I too am quite sure that anything you design, "simple"
or more complex will be a great hit if produced commercially
as a gent's pocket knife etched with "Wolfe Design" on the Blade.
Your design will be an attraction!

Speak to Dr. Fred Carter who has been very successful creating
beautiful bold designs on the computer to be reproduces by
the thousands commercially...

All the best,

I think that Wolfgang does not "grind" his knives, he uses only files,
sandpaper and the likes for his amazing sculpturing in steel...

Hi Wolfe,

The knives have inescapable cool lines. I'm very partial to your first presentation with the ivory and flared tail. It is as appealing to me and a touch similar in lines to Neil Blackwood's VERY successful 'Ruckus' series (of which I own two, and only offer the comparison in a supporting sense.) The fluting and scallop bring it right into your own personal style.

I would like to think that with your reputation and how the aftermarket prices make your knives available to only a fortunate few, that a 'Wolfe Design' folder would be a no-brainer. This post is a start. :)

I wish you well on this.

That ivory handled knife is stunning. I wish I was a member of your family. :D

Not sure how well the knife would do commercially. It would depend on who made it, materials and price. It can't hurt to look into it.
