Below is some info I was given on the East Coast Custom Knife Show. This will be my first show and I was wondering if the amount of tables and represented countries is large. How does this show size compare to other shows. Thank you for any comments.

East Coast Custom Knife Show. We are returning for our 11th year and the show will take place on March 10, 11, 12 2000 at the Crowne Plaza of Manhattan at 49th & Broadway (1605). There are over 130 tables exhibiting with 37 states and 10 countries represented. The show opens Friday at 1:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., Saturday 9:30-6 and Sunday 9:30-4. A one day pass is $10 and all three days is $20. We do not make advance reservations, just purchase your ticket at the door. There are door prize drawings all weekend and the three day pass qualifies you for the grand prize drawing on Sunday.

Well if there is going to be over 130 tables of custom knives I'd say it's pretty damn good size. I wish I were going!

Atlanta is supposed to be the "biggest" knife show. I think there is something like 500+ tables, but of course all of them are not custom makers.

Thanks GeneL74

Please, keep the replies comming everyone. I am also interested in hearing how many shows people have attended and how the size of the East Coast show compares.

Louis, this will be my first knife show too. I'm really lookin forward to it. I know it's a "custom" show, but was wondering if SpeedTech will be there with any Synergy knives for sale.

I agree. Get to Atlanta BLADE show at least once in your life. It was hell getting there, but it was worth it. I'm slowly working my fiancee around into making it a honeymoon trip this year, but then of course I'll have to get a divorce.
So I'm still thinking it over.

Having been to the Blade Show in Atlanta the last two years I can assure you it is worth the trip and if you can't find what you want or something you like then it probably doesn't exist. A great show, save your milk money and try to go at least once.

The East Coast Custom Knife Show is big by any standard as knife shows go, but it is certainly one of the best for the quality of work you will see there. Because it is very expensive to do that show, it generally attracts only those makers who can be fairly certain of selling a lot of knives (or a least a few knives for a whole lot of money). It should be well worth your time.

Atlanta is the biggest, and it also hosts most of the factory knife companies as well as about 400 of the top makers from around the world. The Guild show (in New Orleans this year) is almost as big.

If you like knives, no show is too small. Enjoy!

I was considering going to this show in NYC.I would be curious to know if SpeedTech or Benchmade would be at this size show, all the way out here on the East coast.Does anybody have the inside scoop on what manufacturers will be at this East Coast Custom Knife Show in March? Thanks,Ralph

TOMBSTONE,

I don't think there are going to be any manufacturers there. Only custom makers. I have received confirmation that Chris Reeve will be there

At last year's march show the only factory (that I remember) represented was spyderco. Lots of tables, lots of dealers, lots of big name makers. If you're in the area..go!
