Would this be OK?

Last year, I won the brass HI Medallion giveaway. The medalion has been in my bookshelf ever since, and it's a really interesting piece. I know that lots of people do givaways to celebrate 1000 posts and stuff like that. So, I thought I might share the good fortune some and offer the medallion up again (in a new thread) here in the near future.

My question is that I wanted to put a rule in place and if it would be alright:

The winner cannot keep the medallion.

After one year, it must be sent to another knifeknut via another random drawing thread.

----------------------

What say you guys?

The medallion was first offered by pageophile in this thread last March.

I remember the thread. It would be perfectly fine to do a giveaway, but it needs to be in the Cantina. (I'm also going to move this thread there) I don't know how you would hold the winner to his word about not keeping the medallion, but it's a nice Idea though.

Well, I would just put it in the thread that it was agreed to by entering the drawing. I know it wouldn't be enforceable, but I just thought it might be a fun thing to have it circulate to different people. I've enjoyed having it and I thought others might as well.

I think that's a great idea, and actually gives the medallion more meaning -- not to own it forever, but to be part of a circle of sharing.

Ok, I'll see about getting a photo or two and I'll start a new thread soon (there's a bunch of things going on right now that are very stressful).

One more note. I too think its a great idea. I think that as it goes around, everyone should give their location as well... then we can all see how it moves across the wold via the circle of sharing.

Well, it came to me from pageophile in Alberta (?) Canada, and I'm in a suburb bordering Dallas, Texas.

I agree, that's a nice idea! I'd also like to thank you for coming up with it and being willing to part with the medallion to get it started. Good man.

Thanks,

Kev
