Would this bother you?

I’m a fan of all steel knives. The main drawback it seems is that they are scratch magnets. It doesn’t bother me and in fact I feel it’s a character builder. For example my recent pickup of this Moki has acquired lots of “character” in a short period of time yet retains its superior quality. Another of my favorite all metal knives is the aluminum bodied G. David laguiole which I picked up used.
So, what do you think and do you have any examples you’d like to show?

I think it comes under the heading of "goes with the territory."

Doesn't bother me at all.

No, it would not bother me. If it goes in my pocket or on my belt, pack, etc., I expect to use it, and expect it to look like it's been used.

I don't mind ... or notice or pay attention to the scratches on my all metal knives ... or those on my blades ... to be honest, I been known to hit the flats of my (stainless) blades (I eliminate the shine on my carbon steel blades with a patina) to (a) get them flat. (b) Elimininate the "mittor polish" the factories all seem to be so fond of.
I REALLY don't " need" my blade to double as a signaling mirror. 🤨 I have a Credit/Debit card size stainless steel signaling mirror in my kit when I go out in the field. 😇👍

All my steel clad knives (Western and Marbles Demo Knife, Marbles GI Utility Knife) and Douk Douk El Baraka have a mat finish on the handle, so I can't really see any scratches from use ... at least without magnification. I've had the Western Demo knife since 1975, when the Army Reserves gave it to me. Still no noticable scratches on it from belt and right front pocket carry over a few decades ... a couple of which were consecutive ... including the years I worked as an fabrication welder.

My Brass handle Hignkani has a couple ... besides those intentionally put on by the factory.

It all depends. If I'm paying a premium for a knife that's described as mint, then yes, it'd be a problem. A used knife? That's another story. A lot of what I collect is just not available in pristine condition at any price.

I carried this little Lakota Teal in my front pocket for years, when I was a Suit. It got scuffed up a bit, and the gold on the engraving wore off. I can't say it bothers me.

I think it was an earlier post of your Lakota Gary that sent me down a rabbit hole searching for one of my own. If I remember correctly it wasn’t the last time you were such an influence. 🤔

Would not bother me one bit. Jewelers compound or high grit sandpaper would square it away real quick if It was though.
