Would this Motor/VFD work well to run my KMG?

It should work. Before you pay for it go and make sure it operates and under load if possible. Just be aware that VFD's will wear out eventually and this one looks pretty old. They may last thousands of hours but you never know... But then that goes ofr new ones too.

"The motor is German, made by AEG and can be wired for either 220V or 380V, 50Hz, 3 phase. It is 2HP (1.5KW) and 1400RPM. This is an older unit, enclosed and fan cooled, ball bearings, heavy and solid. Dual shafts measure 22mm (~0.863") and each end has a woodruff type key in it. Not sure what this was originally from, but it runs smooth and strong with almost no perceptable vibration"

As chuck said, see it run with a load on it.

This is the part I see to be careful of.

.

If you are buying American made standard pulleys like the ones Rob Frink sells.
you are SOL.

If you can find V belt pulleys with the metric 22mm shaft hole, OK
If you can bore the 3/4" hole of a standard pulley larger and make the key-way work, OK
The Woodruff key is a Half moon key, not the square key we are used to.

for $100, I would try to make that all work, compared to the price of a new motor and VFD..

Thanks all for the insight. I already have the 3 speed setup with a 1 1/2 horse motor that Rob sells. But for this price I don't know if I can pass it up. My machining skills are sub par and I have no equipment except a cheap Drill press and the KMG.
