Would Timestamps Reduce Scamming? Thoughts?

I haven’t thought through all the potential pros and cons of requiring timestamps for anything posted for sale/trade. There was another post that mentioned adding a timestamp requirement would get rid of scammers who use others photos.

This doesn’t seem like it would be a tremendous ask to the members and I think it would reduce potential scammers. Seems like only pros to me.

Thoughts?

I'm kinda new here, but, it would no big deal for me to write time / date on a piece of paper with the knife I'm trying to sell, if that what a timestamp is.

How prevalent are scammers?

Not sure how prevalent scammers are here but I’d be good with adding a picture with time and date. Even if I gets rid of 1 scammer, I think it would be worth it.

Curious if anyone is against it for any particular reason?

Sure it would take a little time and effort and it might clutter up the beautiful knife photos, but like you said if it stops one scammer it'll be worth it.

Maybe if most folks do it the scammers might go elsewhere.

I don't understand sending someone hundreds of dollars via paypal friends & family without any type of verification that the person actually has the item.

I think timestamping your photos is a great idea, but what do I know? I'm not going to require it, but it's smart for you guys to ensure the person getting your money actually is on the level
