Would you be interested in a ‘scout’ series?

Basically a CS mid-tier version of their high-end folders, e.g. the 4-Max Scout. How would you feel about the AD-10, AD-15, and Storm Cloud in Griv-Ex scales and AUS-10a steel?

Aren't they already kinda doing that? I picked up a 4-Max Scout because I can see spending about a hundred bucks on a knife/tool/toy, but not three hundred simoleons. The Sr1 Lite seems to fit the same bill, too. Whether they are or not, though, I like the idea.

The SR1 Lite is functional no doubt, but it’s not for me. I prefer Taiwanese construction and AUS10a over Chinese construction and 8cr13mov.

Great idea. For their mid-tier fixed blades, I’d be stoked to see some SK5 versions of higher end ones. Then if you really like the design, just upgrade to San Mai or 3V.

To some extent, they already have this. SK5 SRK, Recon Tanto, etc. Would be cool though if we could get a Trailmaster and Recon Scout too.

interesting design. Never seen it before. I’d love an updated Hatamoto with a Tri-Ad lock hehe.

The "Scout" version of the 4-Max was a great idea and running those changes through CS's line-up would be great for consumers but it would be kind of like they would be competing against themselves - possibly hurting sales of the AD-10, etc.

For what it's worth, the AD-1o is without a doubt my favorite CS folder and perhaps even my favorite folder overall. Would I buy a "Scout" version of the AD-10? In a heartbeat!

I don’t think a Scout series would significantly dent the sales of the AD knives? But then again I’m not a sales analyst. Thanks for your input!

In the meantime, the 4-Max Scout will probably be my next CS folder, hehe.

I have an ad10, got it for a steal. If they did an ad15 scout I'd be all over it!

The AD10 and 15 are already much lower cost than the 4-Max...not sure there would be enough difference in a "scout" version to be worthwhile, but could be wrong.

I've been asking for this too. A 'high-end' Hatamoto with a 'tri-ad lock' would be the next Cold Steel superstar.
