Hey guys!

With all the positive talk of the ex-01, it got me wondering if the guys at hogue would make a fixed blade version, or at least a fixed blade with similar design.

Personally, id be one of the first in line :D

the hogue line of folders was the centerpiece of the recent issue of tactical knives... according to the makers they've got a whole line up in the works. fixed, folders, assisted/auto.... cross your fingers! i am. :D

I own two folders already and I'm ready for new stuff for sure. I'm a fan so far.

The fixed blade doesn't appeal to me as much as the folders. They do have a flipper version of the folder coming out.

I'm not sure if I'll be that interested in a FB either, but a flipper version sure sounds interesting. I currently have a 3.5" version with aluminum handle & a 4" version with G-10 (G-Mascus) handle & am very happy with both of them.

So, on the other folders they have planned, does anyone know if they'll all be button locks?

You guys are a bit behind. ;)

Still not interested in the fixed blade!!!

The designer seems to be hinting that the flipper version "may not" have a button lock.

Yes......Hogue is coming out with an EX01 fixed blade. It is in the works.........

Elishewitz said this elsewhere about the fixed blade....."The fixed blade is going to come in two sizes a 7" and a 5.5". The .250 A-2 blade is going to have a coating which can withstand hundreds of hours of salt spray." I have no link to anything concerning the flipper models. Hogue had a few flipper versions and damascus versions on display at BLADE this year in Atlanta and Elishewitz has said those are prototypes for upcoming production models and should be unveiled as early as SHOT SHOW 2011.

That is an Elishewitz FB, but not a Hogue/Elishewitz, right? Is Hogue actually coming out with a FB?

Notice that the fixed blade pictured is labeled "Hogue" on the blade. That is one of the prototypes that Elishewitz ground and recently showed for Hogue so I assume the production versions will be very similar to what you see in the picture and are supposedly going to be available in two sizes.

As far as the markings go, the EX01 folder has "Elishewitz" on one side, and "Hogue" on the other, discretely placed and nicely done, so I assume the production versions of the fixed blades will follow that pattern.

Yes, I later saw the pic on a bigger screen & saw "Hogue" on it. Most of the time, I'm using a small laptop.

With 1/4" thick A-2 blade, it should be a pretty good knife. What did the flipper protos look like? I believe someone said there were flipper protos. Did they look like the button lock ones or different?

Looks at lot like the CRKT FTWS knife that is being released. At least everyoen will ahve options in terms of quality and price

I am in, that knife with a 7" blade makes for a nice companion, Elishewitz's stuff is real hit or miss, I hated all of his collaborations with CRKT, but his custom work and Hogue line is really nice.

I saw examples of the upcoming fixed blades at the UNC Gathering 2 recently. Pretty sweet looking if you ask me. I'll be seriously considering getting one.
