Would you buy a Sage 5 if you already had a PM2?

The wife got me cabelas gift cards for my bday and I was looking around the site to see if they had a Bugout and came across the Sage 5 (which I've liked since it came out). I already have a blacked out PM2 so I feel like there's a lot of overlap, so I don't know if they're too much alike and i should just wait until I see something else I like or what. Anyone have/had both and have an opinion?

I don't think at any point that you will hold that Sage 5 in your hand and think; "what a waste!"

The Sage is smaller than the PM2 so there is not much overlap for me. I like the Sage series but I won't buy one because they are smaller than what I like.

Both knives are relatively light but they fit different roles. The PM2 is a beefier knife which can be intimidating to other people due to the shape and size of the blade. In addition, the width of the blade stock is thicker. The Sage 5 has a thinner blade stock, is lighter and has an almost cute blade shape. I find with the lighter weight of the Sage 5 and wire clip I can carry it very comfortably with athletic shorts with no belt.

No. Too much overlap. Sage sounds ok, but I like the PM 2 and don't need another one that's so similar, but smaller.

I have a Sage 5 and I'm thinking about getting a PM2. I like smaller knives so I'm concerned that the PM2 might be a little too large for me. I had actually ordered a PM2, that was out of stock, but before the new run arrived I changed my order and got the Sage 5 because it was a smaller knife. I probably will get a PM2 someday but I'm still concerned that I won't carry it because it's just too big.

What about the PM3 ?

You can also try the Sage 3. It has a lock like the Manix 2, Great knife. If you wanted to go larger you could try the Domino. To me they are similar in size to the PM2 but completely different look and feel.

The only thing similar about them really is the lock (besides them both being spydercos). If we were buying only 1 of every type of lock, the flipper framelock game would be dead! :)

I've owned both. The Sage 5 is a good knife but I didn't care for it. I don't like CF type handles and I just didn't like the overall design. If you're looking for more of a gents carry and like the compression lock it's probably your best bet.
