Would you buy the Tad dauntless knife again? Is it worth the price? Really, really want this knife, but being a CRK fan, don't know if I would be satisfied....love the looks, the g-10 and ti really looks sharp. I hope someone has the dauntless and chimes in. I carry a small Sebenza but the dauntless might be a little big...

I bought two; sold two. I love the knife but hate the choil. The choil CAN hang up the knife if you stab too deeply.
This is a rare opinion and perhaps very unlikely. Most folks obviously love the design.

I have a MK1, MK3, MK4, and MK4CF. The Dauntless series is probably one of my favorite for an actual "user". The design is simple, feels good in hand, and works well with bare hands or wearing gloves. I personally like the choil on it, and find it quite useful at times.

MK1: Very nice, but notably heavier than the MK3/4. Good option if you like Ti, and don't mind watching it get scratched up.

MK3: My personal favorite. Flat grind, stiff clip, stonewash, and smooth bushings make for a durable and easily re-buildable knife.

MK4: Lightest and nicest feeling in hand. Definitely the most refined version (especially in the carbon fiber option). Not a fan of the hollow grind when compared to the flat grind on previous versions. Clip is much more flexible, and the hardware uses smaller Torx heads. Bead blasted lock side shows a lot more wear than the stonewashing on MK1 & MK3.

Any of them make a very nice knife in hand, and in use. At least that's my two cents. Let me know if anyone has any other questions.....

I'll throw in my opinion. My experience has only been with the MK4, but I find it to be a great knife. I too am a CRK fan, and I've been carrying a small Sebenza just about daily for around 4 years. There were some others in there, some still around, but most of them are gone. When I first got the Dauntless, (and because I was so used to my Senenza) I thought, "this might have been a mistake." They just felt so different to me in the hand. It wasn't a mistake though, the more I use it, the more I enjoy it. I agree, it is surprisingly light in the hand and very comfortable to use. It flies open and locks up solid. Not the bank vault sound of the Sebenza, but it is very solid. I was a little iffy on the clip at first, but that is because I compared it to the Sebenza. It's flexible, and so far it has worked great. Carries great and is light in the pocket. As far as size goes, yes, it is bigger, but I really haven't noticed it when carrying it. I like the blade shape a lot, and it came out of the box plenty sharp. Will it replace my Sebenza? No. But it's definitely staying around and keeping a place in my rotation. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Here is a quick cellphone pic of the two:
