Do you think a Gold Class BM is too nice to carry everyday ? Maybe it depends on which Gold Class. But I would def want to carry something that unique. I couldn't just let it sit at home in the safe.

I'd carry a Gold Class Griptilian if I had one, but I think I'd be more caution what was in the pocket with it. I don't think I'd have my keys or leatherman in that same pocket to minimize wear on it purely by carrying it rather than actually using it.

There seem to be a lot of people who carry high end knives. to each their own.

I use my knives too often, I would not want to have to think twice about using my knife for a task.

My users get used, and they are all pretty nice blades not the Gold class level though, my collectors don't .

I view gold class BM knives as collector pieces. If I ever bought one it would only get used to open an envelope once or twice. Then it would stay locked away in my safe. I use my knives too hard to worry about damaging a gold class blade.

Yes for sure, I'm looking for a gold class 525-81 to carry, but it would be more for carry when Im out and about on the weekend or if I'm going out at night to dinner etc... I would still use my regular 525 & 527 to carry when at work or if doing house work since they get a lot of abuse.

I've got customs that cost as much as Gold Class Benchmades and I carry them. So if I bought a Gold Class Benchmade, I'd carry it too. But like Redmasta, it wouldn't see hard use.

Only some - my EDC rotation includes the GC Torrent and Emissary.
Not the highest priced, but still pricey.
They show some wear - the Emissary's black alum has a few wear spots. The Torrent already went back to BM for
a resharp (buddy broke the tip by accident). The clips on both show a lot of wear.

You could make it your bbq knife, lol (go look up that thread in general discussion; I had never heard of that).

I just like knives. I have knives I display, knives I store, and knives I use. To me, there's no wrong reason to own a knife. :)

I agree; there's no wrong reason. I just don't like things sitting; I'm the same with guns. My collection is full of users. :)

+1 on that thought and I am in same way.

I think as name suggests, Gold Class is something to hold value, not hard / every day use. Since GC is LE, I hate to lose it by any means. If you have recent GC knives, may be BKC can repair it. Either way, you will lose value (wear& tear, lose blade stamping (prod #) if you break the blade)

I usually use blue & black class blade.

I use all my knives.
But, I also buy knives for that reason.
So, M4 is more appealing to me then Damascus.
However, I own both workhorses and arm candy and use them respectively.
To make a tool out of the best materials and then just leave it in a safe forever; seems like a sin to me.

I am in full agreement. A sin indeed.

Absolutely. I wouldnt feel I got my value's worth if I did not. I purchased a LE 705, a LE M390 707, and a variety of parts to make one 705BW with a 707 blade in M390 for EDC, and then reprofiled the 707 M390 blade to a much lower angle than factory, more or less killing the collector's value of both knives. That doesn't really bother me as thus far it's the favorite small EDC I have ever had over the decades and looking at a nice knife is a tease. I sometimes carry a 941TI-01, and if I had one of the Gold Class 941's they did way back I'd carry that too.

I often do purchase the William Henry clip cases or have a custom maker (on this forum) make a case for the nicer smaller folders I have. This reduces 99% of the wear markings from EDC and I think it makes carry more comfortable.

Now and then I do wind up with a knife that is too expensive to carry or not as a practical to carry as the cosmetic design reduces functionality of other knives. Over the past 10 years, I have found myself generally either trading or selling these knives. There are a few exceptions with a few very unusual Benchmades I have, but more because there are other Benchmade knives I prefer to carry more.

Won't let myself buy one because I know I won't use it. Too classy for me. Hell, I have a few discontinued models that I hardly use because I know I can't replace them. Hence, their current location in the exchange.

Bought a Sebenza 25 last year with my tax return. Excellent F&F, solid. Polished to the last detail. Too fancy, too expensive for me to replace. Damn quality knives if you can afford to, though.

thats why You buy a CRK, You can use the crap out of it for 5 years and sell it. You'd get most if not all you money back. I am pretty sure Ima catch crap for the comment but had to throw it out there. As far as gold class BM, no thanks
