Would you EDC a Spyderco Bowie by Ed Schemp?

I've been tossing back and forth between an Endura and a Paramilitary 2 for an all purpose EDC blade. I'm not an avid knife collector, I just one one single knife that I can depend on every day. Right now they're on sale for $170. Retail price is around $300 so it looks like a good deal. I like the look of the Bowie for the simple fact that it doesn't resemble a tactical blade. I think it would go a lot better with a pair of jeans and iron rangers or fit well inside of a saddleback briefcase more than either the Endura or PM2, but it will be a user knife. As nice as it looks, I need it to be able to perform. Suggestions? Thoughts?

No.
Ed's a GREAT guy, one of my favorite people in the knife world, and he makes some terrific knives, but I think the angles are off for self-defense on the Bowie.
I think much better choices are the Schempp Persian, Manix 2 series (you can always choose a blue Manix 2 LW if you're just trying to look "untactical", but you actually seem to be going for cowboy tactical, which won't look the least bit less dangerous to LEO or security), or a Spyderco Native.

I wouldn't go for the bowie. It's heavier, a bit more expensive, and I'm not into the look. I would go for the PM2. That said you do like the look of the bowie. I think you should try to handle it first if you can and then go with your gut.

Why you think the angles are off for self-defense on the Schempp Bowie. I'm just curious, as other reputable knife experts such as Michael Janich (though he does represent Spyderco) have claimed it is capable for self-defense.

Mike is a great guy, and a gentleman. Anything could be used for self-defense, but the odd blade-to-handle angle on the Bowie means that many traditional knife styles won't work well.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I opted to just get a para 2 in Brown with s35vn. It cost me about the same but I think it will be a good balance between keeping the ergos while eliminating that aggressive tacticool look of the black/digital scales.
