I just bought one of these new in the box at a great price and can't decide if I should carry and use it or not.

Seems like too nice a knife to let it just rot away in a safe..... LOL

I would carry it but I would also treat it as a collectible. A little light use wouldn't do any harm I believe.

I personally would carry but would probably never use it. Consider that people have paid double for a out of production standard Emerson that is a couple years old in new condition. It is also oak wood which I don't think is a tough scale material if accidentally dropped. If you really like it & plan on keeping it, go for it (carry & use). Ultimately it's your call lucky guy!

All great points.

I use all of my knives. You only have one chance in this life and you should use the nicest things that you can afford. I don't have any interest in safe queens.

I would. People drive cars that cost far more than that knife every day so why not? It's all relevant to how you view what is its worth. If it's worth to you is it being pristine than no, if you value it as a very nicely made tool than yes. I think the rap question here is would you EDC George Washingmachines teeth, and by EDC I mean have your teeth removed and rock his old goat dentures?
