Looks cool to me.

My wife always says "Backpacking is easier than real life. All you have to worry about is walking to the next place, getting some water, collecting some wood for a fire, eating" Sounds like that guy has got it knocked!

I think I'd go for a teepee though. Less snow could settle on it.
 
This guy is camped out a few miles from my house. Given current conditions, no I would not want to be living longterm in a tent just now. 3.5' of snow on the ground at the moment, we haven't seen freezing in weeks (so no melting), and another 24"+ is forecast for this week.
 
It's not the tent that would bother me; I've had years that I slept in a tent more than indoors. And I've slept outdoors for months at a time many times.

It's the cold and snow that would suck. :thumbdn:
