Would you rather have a small sebenza or a mini ritter with custom scales?

I just got a large griptilian which I'll be trying to get rid of for a small one (and hopefully a ritter), but I was really impressed with the blade / lock system. It just works. I love the axis lock. The only complaint is that the handles feel a little cheap, so which would you rather have?

custom scales (wilkins or cuscadi) on a ritter mini grip
or a small sebenza?

and why?

I'd take the Small Seb but that is purely a subjective opinion :) I'm not real big on the Axis lock is why. It's ok but doesn't stand out to me in any special way. A CRK framelock will last a lifetime, no parts to break inside, etc. Plus CRK's can go back to the Spa if you so desire . . .

Sebbie all the way.
You might want to consider the warranty.
I think you would have to put the old griptilian scales in order to get any warranty work done.

I have no idea why anyone would want my opinion on the subject, but there are numerous reasons I would prefer the CRK.

Perhaps more compelling than MY opinion would be EVERYONE's opinion. If you look at places where used knives are sold, you will likely find that Sebenzas generally sell quickly, and for very near what you can buy one new. This would tend to indicate (to me at least) that most believe the Sebenza is desirable to many.

For me personally, the ritter. The small seb just didn't do it for me.
The faster lock, better feeling handle (once you got the custom grips) and blade profile on the Ritter are all things I like more. The nicer fit and finish on the small Sebenza is pretty good, but the difference isn't really that big a deal most of the time. The ritter with custom scales in more comfortable in hand too than the Sebenza (and it actually fits all four fingers, unlike the Seb).

Now a large seb vs a large ritter, then the seb all the way.

Neither.

I honestly don't get why one would get a small Sebenza given that the Mnandi is much nicer unless you plan on getting one with unique graphics and/or cabochan. I also was not disappointed with my William Henry TZ-12. Thing is a titanium workhorse:thumbup:.

i own both the sebenza as well as the mini and larger grip with K.W. scales and i must say that the mini grip is my most carried by far!
If you can have both go ahead! you won't regret it!

I've had both.
I definitely liked the Ritter better.
I preferred the blade shape of the Ritter, as well as the harder HT of that blade.

The Axis lock is just great design.
Both the G10 and the titanium scales are really nice and well made. The Wilkins scales made it basically a custom knife.

I'm sure it is quite a nice knife, but taking a production folder and slapping on some machined scales most certainly does not make it a custom knife.

I see what he is trying to say though. A semi custom knife then throwing on some custom scales leaves the liner and lock as the only production pieces, right? It's close enough, but it's at the very least a semi custom knife after the scale treatment.

I do like the Sebenza, but I also like the plain old mini ritter with stock scales for the money. Only one solution, a small sebie and a mini ritter with factory scales. The mini ritter can be your work blade and the sebie can be your wow blade.
