Would you reprofile this?

So, some years back I won an Applegate Fairbairn full size (Boker) in an auction. When it arrived, I realized it had a besh wedge. I was a bit disappointed and just put it in my collection. I was thinking about it recently and am tempted to have it reprofiled to the standard grind for these. I guess the only thing that would stop me is if this version is very rare and worth a lot.
I am open to suggestions.

Unfortunately we can't give you the value of your knife unless you are a gold or higher member. Why don't you do a quick google search to see what they are selling for? Also, unless you actually plan to use it a fair amount I would not reprofile it. Just buy one with the edge type you like.

I am not asking the value. I just want to know if it is a super rare holy grail knife that collectors would freak if I modified it.

:) Try to sell it for " a lot " .

If somebody buys it , take the money and get something you like better !:thumbsup:

Reprofiling will remove a lot of the width of the blade. You will end up drastically devaluing it.

A Besh wedge is something unique and superior in a lot of ways to a standard bevel.

no way I’d reprofile it. Buy another. Sell or keep the Besh one.

This would be my answer too. Don't reprofile, you'll never wind up with the knife you like. Instead, sell it or just keep it if you'd find it an interesting knife for the collection. Looking over Ebay sold prices, it does seem to command a small premium.
