Would you rough up the Bravo 1 handle?

I have the black linen micarta handle and was thinking about using some abrasive, sandpaper, to rough up the handle a little bit as I feel it could be slick. Anyone try this or have any ideas? What would you do? Thanks.

220 wet and dry paper. It will " rough it up " without making it look " roughed up ". Cleanit up with water, let natural hand oils do the rest.

I would rough up the handle, one of the few complaints I have about BR knives is that their handles are too slick for my taste. I usually clamp my knives in a vise and take some medium grit sanding strips to them.

I also have the same problem with certain micarta/G10 grips on BRKT knives. I also rough mine up with sandpaper. For my Aurora, I even reprofiled the entire grip to better fit my hand.

I am planning on adding a few grooves to my Barkterio machete to make it less 'slippy'.

I like it as it is. So i wouldnt do anything personally. I don't have issues with the grip a I dont really stab much (actually never--at least not with much force)

My brother sand blasted his Bravo 1 and the black turned an amazing gray and the grip did increase.

Bead/sand blasting it is the way to go, that will give a far better looking and feeling finish than just sanding it.

Don't they sell some handle options in a matte finish?

Even so, what's up with that wax they coat the handle in? I scrub that off with some Bar Keeper's Friend and find the grip to be a lot better.
