..if you could purchase a SAK/MT with the blades that YOU want.. Kinda like ordering a car with the options that ya pick!! Oh.. Just dreaming!!! :excitement: John :)

when I drink, its never a twist off, so first priority is a good cap lifter :D

At the big shows, Vic used to bring a manual assembly machine with parts and you could assemble a custom SAK exactly to your specs.

companies have tried. The most successful when it comes to user loadings is SOG, but the amount of fiddling around you need to do gets expensive. I had a perfect A/V theater and stage tech load in my SOG (Including robertson driver for extension cord plugs, and a long fine pot switch screwdriver) But that took a lot of work. And the SOG is constructed to a looser tolerance to make that work.

I think the big companies just don't think enough people want to do it. That said, Leatherman is making it easier to take apart the larger tools than it did before, so who knows, maybe they are going in that direction?

Oh man what I wouldn't give. I'd make a heck of a little pocketknife out of that deal. I haven't actually figured up the layout to see if it's possible but I would be thrilled to have a large alox thickness blade, awl, inline Phillips, combo tool, electricians blade, and saw. Setup like the alox models with heavy springs and no back tools.
