Wouldn't it be great if Cold Steel would change their serrations?

I've been really impressed with the new CS products from the past year or so.
The one big complaint I've got with them is their serration pattern is terrible. The small teeth bend or break very easily during use and sharpening. This has happened on both my PS Recon1 and PS Gun Site Voyager. Would it be that difficult to change to a Spydie or Microtech-type pattern? Am I the only one with this complaint? I'm really not trying to bash CS, I am a big fan of their knives.

Got the same issues here:thumbdn: I've broke off the small teeth opening clam-packs and cutting zip-tie before, WAY TOO WEAK AND DELICATE!

I had the Gun Site Voyager on the Sharpmaker this morning and those pointy little serrations were coming off :(
I think I'll stick to their plain edge models. Its unfortunate, I think Spyderco is the only manufacturer left with full serrated knives that are worth anything.

My brother has a 4” Gunsite that’s seen some rough use, the serration were trashed beyond any repair. We threw in on the belt sander and sanded them out and turn the knife into a drop point from the tanto; doesn’t look half bad actually. I’ll post up pics if you’re interested.

I would agree, Spyderco has the best serrations from my experience. I really dont care much for CS serrations and only own PE because of it. Spyderco's are deep and well scalloped...much better.

Crappy Ipod pic, but ya get the gist:thumbup:

Shooter01,
Nice pic and looks to be a great job with the regrind! About how long did that take?

Mannlicher,
We're all entitled to our own opinions, aren't we?

From me coming up with the idea, to what ya see there, was this side of 30 minutes. And only that long because of the constant dipping he had to do to preserve the heat treat. It's easier to throw it at the belt sander when it already beat to shit; gave new life to a folder that had been all but forgotten about because of the edge damage.

I agree.
well but it's not really all the serration's fault you know.
maybe becus of the blade softness?
IMO serration is best to use and to sharpen has to be made from good hard steel
I'd prefer kershaw or ESEE serration.

dude...that's awesome
looks just like hitsassu blade style.
must be a good EDC plus tactical knife.
I have to buy another CS and mod one :p

I have always felt that there should be a choice of serrations----either left side/handed or right side/handed. I'm not fond of serrations unless cutting wet rope, but they are almost always on the left side, which is wrong for me because i am right handed. That is my complaint.
